I am looking for any family I might have in the Glasgow/Edinburgh area. As far back as I've been able to go is Daniel McCoy, b:1735, in Glasgow. Possibly married to Katy ? of Ireland. They came to the United States 1763-1773. Arrived in South Carolina. Children are listed as: David, b:1763, Daniel, b:1765, John, B:1768-69, Moses, b:1771, and George W, b:1772-73. Daniel could possily have been in American Revolution. I understand the name McCoy could be derived from various forms such as MacKay, Mackee, Mackie,MacCoy, etc.
