Researching Amanda Francis Hill born in Iowa Oct 13, 1843 to Benjamin and Bethiah Hill. She married Samson Whitmore and showed up on the 1870 Fed. census Washington Twp, Lucas County, Iowa with children Belle, age 8, Anna age 6, William age 3 and Allen age 1. By 1880 Fed. Census she appears without Samson Whimore, as head of the house with children Georgiana age 16, William C., age 14, Allen A age 10, Luella age 7 and Maude A age 5. I can't find her as Amanda Whitmore on the Iowa state census in Washington Twp. in 1885. Did she move or did she remarry? Any help finding her or her descendants would be helpful.
