I wonder whether anyone knows how to trace people travelling from the US to South Africa (Cape Town) or possibly Lüderitz, Swakopmund or Walvis Bay in Deutch Südwest Afrika. Further if anyone knows any thing about Kröger or Berg in Lüderitz in 1905-1914. The reason for my question is as follows. My mother Solveig Berg was born in Lüderitzbucht 18 Nov 1911, and her mother's name was Hanna Berg. Her father's surname was probably Peter Kröger. One of Solveig's godmothers was Anna Kröger, b. Johnsen, married to Johanes Amandus Kröger, b. in Schlesvig Holstein in 1872. They resided in Fredrikstad, Norway, in 1900. I have no other definite information about Hanna, but some indication that she is identical to Hanna Amalie Berg, b. 1 Apr 1869 in Eidskog, Norway. She landed at Ellis Island 29 Jun 1905, destined for her brother Hans Berg, Grand Rapids, Wisc. In 1917, she lives in Oslo, Norway. Regards, Jens Kaasbøll | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
