Looking for information on my great grandfather John Kelly (Kelley) born in Dublin Ire. 1830, came to WI 1835, and then to Butler Co with young daughter Julia Kelly (b. 12/25/1848. Her mother Mary Ann Welsh(Welch? of WI) died enroute in Wheeling WVa and is buried there. John remarried to Mary Ann Denny about 1855-6 in Catholic church presumably in Butler. He was killed in Civil War, but have conflicting accounts of whether it was first Bull Run, July 1861, or second Bull Run, 1862. Left behind three other children(in addition to Julia),... Lawrence W, (b 1857), Philip (b. 1859) and Sarah H. (b. 1860). Sarah married a Henry Coyle ( had nine or more children), and Julia married a Daniel McClafferty who died in a lantern fire) ( had several children), and then remarried to Jack Dermody and died in 1920. I am interesting in finding out more about John Kelly and which Civil War regiment, and battle he died in, and burial place. He was a 3 month volunteer when A. Lincoln called for volunteers so presume it was first battle of Bull Run. Were bodies from First Bull Run brought back to Butler Co? or buried at Manasses Jct. VA? or Washington DC? Also looking for death and burial place of his daughter, Sarah H. Coyle, and surviving McClafferty descendants in Butler Co PA area.
