Just curious where the name Branum originated? This is my family name. It may be so that the name originally was spelled Brannum and one n was dropped by my great grand father. We are from north Alabama and before my grandfather died either he really did not know or was unwilling to tell the origin of the name. It is also known that my Grandfather Emmett Branum lived in Arkansas at some point in his life. Unsure where exactly he was born but many relatives are known to have lived in Gurley Alabama (Outside of Huntsville, Alabama). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
