Looking for DuBose and Smith surnames. Jeremiah DuBose and his family lived in Jackson County, Florida, about 1828. I understand he was coroner there. The Jourdan Smith family was also there about the same time. Jourdan Smith had two sons born in Florida about 1823 (James Jasper) and about 1825 (Daniel Newton). Birth counties unknown. Both families eventually moved to Alabama (1830 or so) and a daughter, Amanda Catherine Smith became the second wife of John DuBose (youngest son of Jeremiah). I understand that members of this DuBose family married into the Hutchison family (a judge there?). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
