Hello from Toledo Ohio: I am a direct linage to WILLIAM VASSALL who moved to Barbados in 1648. “St Michaels Barbados” He built a 200 acre plantation called NEWLANDS on NORTH RIVER. The plantation house was called BELLE HOUSE. Then made a Ferry across North River now called LITTLE’S BRIDGE. Other land purchases were BELLE HOUSE NECK & BROOK HALL in back. Also land East of COLEMAN HILL. Sold July 18, 1657 to John Cushing Then Roger Sherman Dix. QUESTION I will arrive in Barbados Jan 25 2004. Can anyone tell me how to find this plantation or where it is so I can visit and photo it. I really would appreciate any help in locating this plantation or finding a tour/cab who can take me there or even a download detail map. Maybe a library where I can find old records.
