In Hessische Familienkunde, I found a link for what may have been my family name. I found a Johann Georg Viehl and Ursula, who had a son Friedrich Paul Viehl in 1707. Our family name in English was Phy. My first immigrant grandfather was Paul Phy, who named a son Frederick. Paul was born in 1785 in Germany. Paul and Frederick have been in every generation of our family, and with German naming patterns, I would think it was very likely that Frederick Paul, would be a very good bet for our original ancestor. If you have any information on this family from Rudingshain, Rainrod, please contact me. Ingrid | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
