Of Glenlivet (Auchnascraw, Clinkhard, Ladderfoot, Corrunich, etc). I'm very interested both in extending this line and in making contact with others who are researching the family. My great Grandfather was Alexander Grant who, in 1883, married Margaret Stuart of Auchnascraw. The family, including sons, Alexander, James and John, left Glenlivet in 1907 and emigrated to North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where they built a Church, (St Edmunds) very similar in design to the one they left behind in Chapeltown of Glenlivet, (St Marys). The parents of Alexander (the 5th of twelve children) were Alexander Grant (b1804 - d 10th March 1886, 3:30pm, Corunack, Glenlivet) and Ann Stuart (b.1829, Abernethy, Invernesshire - d.26th Dec 1902, 5am, Westerclova, Kildrummy). On Margaret's side, parents were James Stuart (b about 1805 - d. 29th Oct 1869, 7:30pm, Mill of Auchnascraw) and Elspet Grant (b about 1810, Ladderfoot-d.3rd May 1882, 6am, Mill of Achnascraw, Glenlivet). Elspet Grant was widowed previous to marrying James Stuart and brought three young children to the second marriage. Her first husband was Charles Stuart who died before 1842. Further Generations: Alexander Grant (1804 - 1886).His parents were Duncan Grant, who farmed at Coruanack, and Mary White (b.about 1769 - d. 24 Jan 1850). Ann Stuart (1829 - 1902)Her parents were James Stuart and Barbara Grant(Jas was born on Belnacoul and worked at Coruanach while Barbara was from Tulloch in Abernethy) James Stuart (1805 - 1869)His parents were John Stuart and Janet Stuart (farmed Rhindhu) Elspet Grant (1810 - 1882)Her parents were Alexander Grant, and Margaret White who farmed at Ladderfoot. Alex and Duncan Grant married sisters in the two White girls. Margaret White died, after bearing 6 children, and Alexander's second marriage was to Margaret Grant, with whom he had three more. Margaret also brought several children of her own to this family from her previous marriage to Robert Stuart who died abt 1818. Holdings in Glenlivet associated with the family :Corunack, Auchnascraw, Clinkhard, and Ladderfoot.
