My Great great great grandfather William Alexander Riddell came out from Aberdeenshire to New Zealand in 1863. In the Dominion of NZ this was his name however in Scotland he was christened Alexander Leith Riddel - no explanation. He was a farrier/blacksmith by trade and in the British Army but we don't know how he came to be in NZ??? He was born in 1838 in Aberdeenshire. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
