Looking for ancestors of Ellen Coleman, born circa 1837, County Cork, Ireland. Emigrated to Boston circa 1849. Reportedly, Ellen had a brother, John Coleman, in Salem, Massachusetts. FRATERNAL TWINS WOULD LIKELY BE VISIBLE IN THE ANCESTRAL LINE . Ellen gave birth out of wedlock to Elizabeth Coleman (b circa 1859 in Boston, MA). Father was likely to have been Peter Cross. Ellen then gave birth to John Joseph Coleman and Frances “Fanny” Coleman 18 FEB1864 at the Tewksbury Almshouse outside of Boston—again out of wedlock. Per the birth record, the father was Pat Linehan (Linnehan) of Ireland who worked as a courier. Frances “Fannie” Coleman married (?) Sheridan in the Washington, D.C. area. John Joseph Coleman (1864-1951) moved to Aurora, Kane County, Illinois, married Mary A. Fitzpatrick (1892) and had children: John Coleman, Clement Clark Coleman and Frances Coleman. All information about Ellen was taken from a September, 1864 interview record from the Tewksbury Almshouse. Any help locating her line in Co. Cork, Ireland, would be wildly welcomed. Thanks and regards, John Coleman (pinestcole @ aol . com) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
