I am seeking information regarding the ancestors or issue of Thomas Briggs who was born in Rhode Island on August 27, 1788. Thomas's family is from Wales. He married Sally Stebbins, who was born in Massachusetts April 9, 1788. Thomas and Sally emigrated to Michigan in the 1830's by way of Connecticut and Pennsylvania. They had 7 children, their last being Wessley or John Wessley Briggs born in 1832, who is my great-great grandfather. There are some Cooledge's among their progeny, and I was wondering if there was any conncetion to the President.
