He married MARTHA HICKS January 14, 1817 in Greenbrier Co VA (now WV). She was born Abt. 1786, and died Aft. 1870 in Lawrence Co, AL1. Notes for WILLIAM BYRD: Early Settlers? - William Byrd, b 12 December 1786 in VA possibly Goochland Co married Martha Hicks in Greenbrier Co VA (now WV) 14 January, 1817. By 1830, they were settled in Lawrence Co AL where William died 9 July, 1834. Martha died after 1870. Land Grant in 1818, says age William Byrd was age 32.
