I am looking for the parents of Johann Joachim Theodor Martens. He was born 5/12/1843 in Duvier, Kreis Grimmen, Pommern. He came to Illinois before October 28, 1866 which is when he married Maria Wilhelmina Timm. Our name has been frequently misspelled as Martin, Martins, Mortens, Meartens, and so on. Johann and Maria had several children who married into Barth, Kienast, Brown, and Klage families. Any information about any of these, or the other surnames is appreciated. I'm also looking for our family bible which was removed from our home at my great-grandfather, Otto Martens, funeral. I believe it was a Klage relative that removed it and I would sincerely like to see it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
