I don't know anything about my ancestors before their arrival in Baltimore except they list Saxony as their homeland, their names and ages. Julius H.Kiessling would have been born ca.1817 his wife Eleonore ca. 1820. I've copied census images from 1870,1880 in Ohio,1880,1900 and later in Wisconsin. I found my whole family in the 1870 Census for New Haven Township, Huron County OH page 20 under the Kissling name listing Saxony as their birthplace. They all match the passenger list for the J.L. Thiermann arriving May 25,1866 at Baltimore. In the 1880 Census I find Elenor, son Paul and daughter Mary in Tiffin OH but the other family members have disappeared: Emma b.1854,Lewis b.1846,Richard b.1852 . Christine, Lewis' wife married Earnest Hoffmann in Ohio sometime before 1873 when their first son was born. They moved to Wisconsin before 1880 where the family is found in the Sumner township, Barron County Census. I would like to excange info with any one doing research on Kissling,Kiessling,Kiesling,Kisling,Rank,Coon,Kuhn,or Wetzel that relate to the above. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
