NAZAREWICH : RAMANOV : TZAREVICH
Query Text: |
My last name is Nazarewich. My father was once told, by a woman who knew his last name, how we got our name. The Tzar (which one I don't know) slept with many women who gave birth to bastard sons and to know they were of his blood he put Zar (Czar, Tzar) in their last names. Hense the name NaZARewich. This could very well be, and most likely is, just some stupid legend or whatever, but some part of me wants to believe it to be true. I've been looking on search engines, trying to find the origin of my last name but to no avail. Some one please help me!
