Looking for ancestors of George William BROWN 1873-1909 married to Nettie ALLEN 1871-1910 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co, Arkansas. They are both buried under a common marker which includes Infant BROWN b. 16 Sep 1908 and Robert Lee BROWN 1871-1891 who I assume is George's brother. The Lavaca Perpetual Care Cemetery is behind the Methodist Church in Lavaca. The attached picture if of my grandmother,Ora Mae BROWN, b. 7 Sep 1899 Lavaca, Sebastian Co AR, d. 1 Apr 1981 Ft Smith, Sebastian Co AR, my grandmother, and her siblings were in the I.O.O.F Widows & Orphans home in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas, because their father, George William BROWN, (b. appx 1873 d.1909) was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in either Lavaca or Fort Smith, Arkansas. The kids went to the home before their mother died. They were listed on the 1910 Census under their mother, Mrs. Nettie BROWN. Nettie Allen b.appx 1871 d.1910, died. BROWN Siblings: Walter F Brown (b. 11 Oct 1901 d. 28 Apr 1968; Robert L Brown b.4 Mar 1895 d. 20 Feb 1958; George "Allen" Brown b.14 Feb 1908 d.23 Dec 1965 and Flora Brown Donahue b. 1908 d. 9 Apr 1985. All stayed in the home until they could leave when they were appx 16 years old. My grandmother talked about putting bread in the pockets of her apron so she could slip it thru the fence for her brothers because they were always hungry. She married Jesse Frank SILMON (b. 04 May 1897, near Grubbs, Jackson County, AR. d. 07 May 1961 Fort Smith, Sebastian Co AR.) m. 3 Sep 1917 in Grubbs, Arkansas. They had 5 children, Mildred Viola SILMON, Troy (who died young), Jesse Robert SILMON, Marvin O SILMON, Charles Floyd SILMON Any help or information you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you.
