Alabama search for Grandpa Carter...born 1900 Thompson Alabama as Cecil Earl Fenn...his mother Annie Lee STone took him to Macon GA on the train and later remarried the Carter man who adopted him. Military enlistment papers found 1923 in Texas at Beaumont Hospital...Did he have a family there ? Am curious that he came back to Alabama in 1932 to marry my granny Alice McClain who died 3 years later and wondering if he was married before and if we have other relatives out there. Seeking info also on Cecils parents and adopted father. Parents Wm F Fenn b Alabama 1875 Annie Lee Stone b Alabama 1881 they married in 1893....she was only 12 ??? divorced 1900 but do not know when she married the unknown Carter man When Grandpa Cecil left Texas, the military papers said "travel pay back to his bonifide home in Macon GA" We have such a mystery here. His papers show him as a dark ruddy complexion and family tells us he was full blooded Cherokee but cannot find his background . He married my granny, Alice McClain in Montgomery Alabama and her mother was a Bozeman. So that's the surnames I am working on and Grandpa Cecil is my brick wall. Thank you!
