Sarah and Ellen (Nellie) Donohue were the daughters of Martin Donohue and Eliza Reeves. The family lived in Co. Offaly, Ireland (known as Kings County in those days) near the town of Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary. Sarah was born 1874; Ellen born 1877. The family later moved to Templemore, Co. Tipperary. About 1895, Sarah and Nellie emigrated to the US. They were sponsored by their cousins Gilbert and Willie Reeves. They lived initially at Strawn, Livingston County, Illinois, with Johanna Reeves-Lynch and later with Margaret Reeves-Maher at Gilman, W. Iroquois County, Illinois. Nellie married a Kerwin and lived in Chicago – their children were Michael, William, Josephine, Helen, Mary Margaret, Heneretta, Jeanetta and Rosie. Josephine died in a hospital in Iowa. Mary Margaret moved to Arizona. Sarah married a man called Owen (surname unknown) and lived in Northern Michigan. Gilbert & Willie Reeves also brought Mary Donohue to the US. Mary was a step-sister of Sarah and Nellie. Mary married William Krones of El Paso, Woodford County, Illinois.
