I am still searching for any and all records for Cyrus Alexander Rollins. He was my great, great grandfather from Dallas/Wilcox Counties in Alabama and apparently was in the War Between the States in the 13th Infantry, Co. A. I say apparently because I cannot find his name on muster rolls, cannot find his name in battles, cannot find anything other than what his widow, Susan Ann Skinner Rollins stated on her request for a CSA widow's pension from Fayette County, TX. She stated he died in a hospital on Dec 11, 1864 in Mississippi. Did they bury him in MS? Did they send him home to AL? I have queried all sorts of archives. I know he existed--I found him on the censuses and I have Susan and Cyrus' marriage license. I have found their five children, their spouses, their burial places, but Cyrus is increasingly absent in anything I read. All you CSA buffs, please put on your thinking caps and tell me where I can find where he was recruited, which battles he may have been in, why was he in the hospital--but most importantly where he is buried. Many thanks. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
