Believe he was born Nttoway Co VA toKenner & Cathryn (Baldwin) Fowlkes. M/1Sarah Caroline HELVEY who died in childbirth. He was a lawyer in Atchison Co MOwhere he married Martha cousin to Sarah.May have been in Mexican/American War wherehe lost an eye in service to his country.
