TANSUR: I am looking for information on my distant Grandmother. Her name was Mary TANSUR, born 03 Mar 1720 in Belton, Leicester, England (her father was William TANSUR and her mother’s name was Sarah). She married John SKERMER born 07 October 1711 Belton (His parents were John SKERMER and Mary FARROW. They had the following children: Sarah, Mary, John and William. Their son, John SKERMER, was born 11 Jan 1760 in Belton, Leicester, England and he married Hannah CHESTER born 28 May 1758 (her parents were Joseph CHESTER and Hannah LESTER). Their children were named: John, Joseph, Samuel, Hannah, Mary, Thomas, Sarah and William. Their son, John SKERMER, was born 26 Dec 1781 and he married Elizabeth IRONMONGER born 10 Oct 1781 (her parents were Thomas IRONMONGER and Elizabeth). They had the following children: Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary, Ursula Priscilla, John, Sarah, Ann, Maria and Harriet. Their son, John SKERMER, was born 13 Aug 1813 in Castle Donington, England. He married Elizabeth born ca 1823 (her last name may have been HIGGOTT). They had the following children: Elizabeth, Joseph, Mary Jane, Ellen, Thomas, Ann, William Palmer, Lilly Eliza, Maria and Samuel. Their daughter, Elizabeth SKERMER was born 6 Aug 1843 in Belton, Leicester, England. She married Hypolite Emile EPERTHENER born 18 Sep 1847 West Bromich, Staffordshire, England (His parents were Louis EPERTHENER and Augustine BREGY. Their children were: Elizabeth, Leanore, Augustine, Hypolite, John L., Joseph Isadore and Lewis. Their daughter, Leanore EPERTHENER was born on 04 Apr 1874, New Albany, Floyd Co., Indiana. She married William Henry GILLESPIE born 12 Jan 1867, Edinburg, PA. (He was the son of Henry GILLESPIE and Elizabeth MARTIN. They had the following children: Imogene, Gertrude, Donald Jay and William Henry Jr.
