Query Text: |
I'm searching for a Mr. Sauve who had a sugar cane plantation about 10 miles from New Orleans, LA in the 1840's. I think it was probably upriver from New Orleans, but am not sure what parish that would put it in. A distant cousin of mine, Maria Luff, lived at his home for 2 years (1843-1845)while she acted as a tutor to his children. Her friends Sidney Hooker and Miss Rose were also there as tutors. Sidney Hooker supposedly knew Mr. Sauve, perhaps from his family's shipping business. I'd like to find out more about Mr. Sauve and his family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
