Looking for ancestors of Robert and Sally Possibly Furman) Evans. Robert Risley Evans born 1811 NY, d. 20 Jul 1885 Carson City, Montcalm Co. MI, Sally b abt 1814 NY, d 17 Sep 1895 same. Children: Amanda L.1835 NY, Julia 1836 NY, Martin Devoe 1838 NY, William Risley 1840 NY, Chauncey 1842 NY, Clark Joshua 1845 NY, Tasker Soloman 1848 MI. The Evans family moved from Genessee Co NY (according to Wm. R. Evans obit) to Ronald Twp, Ionia Co, MI abt 1845 (they appear in the 1850 Census in Ronald twp). It is possible they came from Steuben Twp, Oneida Co., NY. The 1820 Census for that town shows other known family and friends, Joseph, Jacob and Samuel Hubbard, Chauncey Goodwin, and a John F. Evans on the same page with a Robert Evans who could be father to my Robert. He has a son Robert 15 years old. Irwin Henry Evans, son of Wm. R. Evans and Ruth Ann Locke Evans, grandson of Robert and Sally Evans was b 1862 on farm 1 mi. East of Carson City, New Haven or North Shade twp's, Gratiot Co., MI. Married Emma Ferry and Adalaide Bee Cooper. He states, "Some or another Uncle to my father (WM) were lawyers in the State of NY".
