Searching for information on the parents of Patrick McDONALD, b.County Donegal, N. IRE in 1823. Immigrated to U.S. 1825. By abt age 5 (1828) Patrick was an orphan.Family history says he was raised by a Robert BLACK in Indiana Twp, Alleghany CO., PA. Info seems to indicate that the father was a canal worker in the Pittsburg, PA area. It is possible the mother's maiden name was GILMARTIN. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
