Seeking the family of JOHN FORD, born in Adderley, Shropshire, who married a MARY, surname unkown, from PREES, Salop. Their son, THOMAS, born probably in 1872, joined the 5th Lancers and left from Exeter for the Boer War in South Africa. He married there, having three children by his first wife, thought to be PRISCILLA SMITH of Winburg, OFS, who died. Second wife was CLARA BAYER, a Swiss girl. He left for WW1 in the ship Mendi, and was drowned in the English Channel. Keen to contact his English family obo great niece who is his grandaughter. John had three siblings: SARAH A FORD; EDITH FORD; JOHN FORD - born c1874, c1877 and c1881. They are all in the 1881 Census.
