I am trying to find information on the burial place of my uncle, Elisha Whitman Wescott, born in E. Boston, Ma. He lived in So. Penobscot, Me when he married Hazel Richards in Augusta, Me on Aug. 8, 1917. Elisha enlisted on 4/16/1917, made Corp. 4/25/1917, was sent overseas on 9/27/1917, made Sgt. on 1/25/1918 and was killed on July 20, 1918. He enlisted in CO A 2 Infantry ME NG (CO A 103 Inf.) He was in the same unit when he was killed. I would like to find out if he was brought home or buried overseas. His wife, Hazel Richards was from Augusta, Me, was 22 when married, she was a weaver at the time of their marraige. She did not re-marry until 9/1925 when she married George E. Bartlett in Augusta, Me. I have much info on Wescott's, will share. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
