I am trying to trace the origin in Ireland of my Downey Family. John Downey born abt 1854 lived in Liverpool Lancashire, England. Married a Mary Ann Jordon and had several children including my grandfather John Joseph Downey Born 1887 in Liverpool.He ended up living in Australia, in Tasmania to be exact.One of his Brothers a William Vincent Downey joined the Canadian Expeditionary Forces and fought in WW1.
