Beattie, his wife Mary Melbourne (Borland) Beattie (1850AR-1938MO) and children, Grace M., Mary B. and Godwin M."Ames, Beattie & Co.", is found on page 120, of the Memphis City Directory, 1879.Sister of Mrs. Mary Beattie was poetess Fanny(Fannie) Green (Borland) Moores, died 23 Aug 1879, of yellow fever, her obituary 24 Aug, front page, "The Daily Memphis Avalanche". Both husbands are thought to have succumbed to yellow fever in 1877/8. The girls father was newspaperman Solon Borland of Memphis & Little Rock, once a U. S.
