I am looking for information on my ggggrandfather Andrew Jackson Grubbs. He was born in SC and was listed in the SC census of 1870 & 1880; however in 1860 he and his wife Emily Carnell Grubbs, his 2 sons James and Marion,and his brother Barzellious are living in Gillsville, Banks County,GA. He served in the Civil War in GA's Ringgold Rangers. His occupation in 1860 was listed as a mechanic. I don't know what type of work that entailed at that time.
