I'm trying to find William Petrie,Governor of Penang from(1812-1816)descendants. His biography: Parents:Robert Petrie & Margaret Waugh of Selkirk.He was born in 1748. Year Occupation 1765 Writer in Madras 1776 Senoir Merchant in Madras He also was founder of Madras Observatory. 1790- Served in Governor's Council in Madras 1800 1799 Astronomer in Madras 1807 Actg.Governor of Madras 1812 Governor of Penang 1816 Died in Penang.He married to Margaretta Aurora Smith.His issue:- i)M.H.A.Petrie(-1819) married to John Hutcheson Fergusson,Trochraigne.
