In the Bullitt Co. Deed Book, p. 537, transcribed by Anne Livingston and posted on the USGENWEB Archives, Johnson Rawlings is listed as a witness of a transaction between Otho FARMER, James HOLSCLAW and John DUNN, recorded 4/13/1812. He is also listed in the Bullitt Co. Deed Book, p. 142 as a witness for Elizabeth HORNBECK on 1/8/1800. I've traced my tree back to Lewis Rawlings, born 1/29/1796, who named his son Johnson Rawlings, born in 1833. The 1850 Bullitt County Census lists Lewis Rawlings, age 54; Johnson Rawlings, age 17, residing in HH 319. It also lists John Rawlings, age 45, residing in HH 318. I have not been able to connect John and Lewis. It seems likely that the Johnson Rawlings listed in the deed book is the father of John and Lewis. Does anyone have access to the land records for Bullitt County or other documentation that may help? Thanks... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
