This is what I've learned to date. Elmo A. Varnado died Sep. 1947, age 60, this would make his birth year 1887. He shows up in the 1910 & 1920 censis in Tangiphoa Parish which also indicates that he was born in Louisiana as were his father & mother. I have found his name spelled as--Elmore Abaire, Elmore Abair, Elmore A Elmo A, Abaire E. and Abair E.---this caused some confusion when I first started.
