hi! just searching for any info about the ancestry of the villegas clan from batangas, particulary in sto. tomas, and the origins of the villegas surname in the philippines. was it originally from a spanish/mexican ancestor, or was it taken from the catalogo alfabetico de appelidos issued by the spanish colonial government in, i believe, 1849? im trying to trace my villegas roots, so, any helpful and historical info will be sincerely appreciated. by the way, my grandfather's name is Felipe R.
