Looking for information that will lead my geneological search for my great-great grandfather, the Rev. Omar Marple who was a circuit rider Methodist Preacher. Believed he lived on Turkey Run Hollow near Buckhannon (Upshur County) of WV. Known children include: Festus Orville "F.O."--became a prominent Huntington,WV physician, Audrey I., Stella Leona (my great-grandmother--she married Brown Pugh and had two children Charles Brown (my grandfather) and Mary-Elizabeth "Libby" who never married nor had children. My great-great grandfather Omar Marple reared my grandfather who attended West Virginia Wesleyan College. I know little about my grandfather's ministerial career other than the fact that I attended a centennial celebration at Humphrey's Methodist Church in Dunbar, WV early in its history. This is my materal family and I regret that I know so little of them. I do believe that there are still many Marples in the Buckhannon area and hope some of them will want to claim us as there own. My mother, Carolyn Pugh Faulkner was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and reconnecting with this part of her family has long been important but even moreso now. Thanks in advance for your time and attention to my query and blessings on your own searching. Beth | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
