Durning the 1800's Folks that could afford it would leave the South Louisiana summers for areas that are cooler and away from mosquitoes. Charles Rufus HYDE and his wife Harriot BADON of Covington LA had a daughter,Catherine Louise HYDE born in NJ.She was born about 1838. The parents were either Methodist or Presbyterian and would have had Catherine baptized.I am looking for information on this family and where in NJ she was born.
