I'm looking for descendants of Edward Wilmot Francis Gilman,Resident Councillor of Penang from(17 April 1930- 15 Aug.1931).He became the acting Resident Councillor of Penang from ( 17 Jan.-17 April 1930).Son of Francis Gilman & Gertrude Lena Oxley.He was born in 1876. He received his education at Bradfield and Brasenose College, Oxford; B.A., 1898. He was appointed as a Cadet in the Straits Settlements in 1899, then as Acting Fourth Magistrate of Singapore in 1901. In 1902, he passed examination in Tamil and was transferred to Penang as Acting Assistant of Indian Immigration. In 1910, he served as Acting District Officer of Kuala Lipis, Pahang for a year before reassigned as Deputy Superintendent of Immigrants Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States in 1911. He was appointed Secretary Indian immigration Committee in 1912 and Deputy Controller of Labour in the same year. He was appointed Federal Examiner in Tamil in 1913 and served as Immigration Officer in Madras for the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States. In 1915, he was the Officiating Deputy Controller of Labour, Penang, and Assistant Censor in 1916.Actg.Resident Councillor of Penang from(17 Jan. -17 April. 1930).Retired in 15 Aug 1931.He married to Bessie Violet Bagot.From whom he had two sons and one daughter.He became Hon.Sec.C.P.R.E.,Oxfordshire Country Regional Planning Committe;1939-1947;Chief Warden A.R.P.;1939-1945.Address:The Cottage,Islip,Oxon.Club:Royal Empire Society.He died in 1955.His issue:- i)Gertrude Eleanor Mary Gilman(?-1979) married 1stly Stephen Herbert Gerard Trower and 2ndly to Trigg Iverson.Their issue:- ai)Christopher Michael Trower(1933-2006)married to Yvonne Daphne Cooper later DeMalpas.His issue - bi)Robert Trower. bii)Cindy Trower. biii)Alan Trower. aii)Peter Trower born in 1930.
