I have been trying to find any information on The Family of Thomas Mock 1st. that came to America in 1751 or 52.(there seems to be come conflict on the exact date). From what I have been able to find he came with his 3 brothers, and sister. They came with a group of Swabian from Germany by way of London England, aboard the ship Antelope. The Captains name was John McClelland. John Gerar William DeBrahm led this group of Lutherans. Their parents did not mate this journey with them. It seem that Thomas was the ward of Michael Weinkuff. Weinkuff was one of the elders of the Swabians. This is where I have hit my brick wall. Any help will be apreated. As this has been on line for a while, it may be repeating information you have. Thomas Mock 1st. arrived in America, in Oct 1751, along with his 2 brothers, Bartholomew, and Wolfgang, and also their younger sister, Christina. Thomas was at the time, only 17 or 18, and was the ward of William Weinkuff. Christina ended up marring William Winekauffs son on 12 Apr 1768, at the age of aprox 24 and dies one year and a month after giving birth to her only child, Margareth WineKauff. The two families had close ties for the next 70 or so years, having business dealings with each other and land adjacent to each other, as is doc. in land deeds. Thomas Marries William Winekauffs daughter, Mary Winekauff on 16 Apr 1765, in Effingham Co., Ga. Just north west of Savannah Ga. They stayed there till 1771 and then Moved to North Carolina, Cabarrus Co. The following is the side of the family for the next 271 yrs. Thomas Mock, B-1733 Thomas Mock, B-1774 David Reddin Mock, B 1829 William Elbert Mock, B 1870 Walter Elbert Mock, B- 29 Aug 1899 Walter Edger Mock, Sr. B- Sept. 1926 Ronald Brent Mock, B-20 Sept. 1955 Ronald Brent Mock, Jr. B- Feb.24, 1979 Hopefully this is some help, and also perhaps you have some info on the Winekauff side in Germany. Ms. Anny, It was good to find someone from Germany seeking others in the US with the same surname. I have been doing the opposite, looking for a Mock connection in Germany. My wife and I will be traveling to Germany next year, but was hope to find more information about my Mock family before we left. I tried to find any info on the names you mentioned in your first posting in 2000; but was unsuccessful. The only other name I have is Weinkauff. With many variations of the spelling as with the name Mock. My family linage is as follows. Thomas Mock 1st. arrived in America, in Oct 1751, along with his 2 brothers, Bartholomew, and Wolfgang, and also their younger sister, Christina.
