Seeking information on the Barron family of San Geronimo / San Jeronimo (Aldama), a family of soldiers. The earliest known Barron was the soldier Miguel Barron, who lived in the last part of the Eighteenth Century. He was a soldier serving in the Spanish army’s Cuarta Compañia Volante (the Fourth Flying Company). Today, San Geronimo is known as Aldama and is located 18 miles northeast of the City of Chihuahua. José Trinidad Barron was baptized on February 14,1792 in the chapel of Julimes. At the baptism, Father José Mariano Mexica, the chaplain of the Company, baptized José Trinidad Valentin Barron, who was only eight days old. Both of his parents, Miguel Barron and Antonia Redondo, were described as mestizos, indicating both Indian and Spanish blood in their lineage. Then, on June 16, 1821, Father Bernardo Rincon, had married the Spanish soldier, Jose Trinidad Barron and María Josefa Luna. Trinidad was described as the widower of Tomasa Munoz and a soldier of the Fourth Flying Company. He was the legitimate son of Miguel Barron and of Antonia Redondo, who was deceased. Jose Domingo Francisco de los Delores Barron, was born in San Geronimo in 1822. When he was two days old, Francisco was baptized by Father Bernardi Rincon on August 4, 1822 at the parish church of San Pablo now Meoqui. Father Rincon was recognized as the official priest attached to the Fourth Flying Company. At the baptism, Father Rincon described José Domingo Francisco de los Dolores as the legitimate son of the soldado (soldier), of the above-mentioned company, Trinidad Barron and of his wife, Josefa Luna. The paternal grandparents were Miguel Barron and Maria Antonia Redondo. The maternal grandparents were: Dionicio Luna and Catarina Romero Seeking the Ramirez and Palomino families of Ojinaga, Chihuahua and Marfa and Ruidoso, Presidio County, Texas. Earliest known ancestors are Faustino Ramirez and Maxiana Palomino. We believe that Faustino was born around 1851 to 1854, probably in Santa Rosalia, Chihuahua. Faustino and Maxiana first showed up in the 1880 census as residents of Dwelling 84 of Ruidosa in Presidio County. Faustino Ramirez was 26 years old and employed as a laborer. Maxiana, his wife, was 22 years old. At this time, they had only one child: Santa Anna Ramirez, who was 3 years old. Living just a few doors away was Refugio Palomino, the brother of Maxiana. Refugio Palomino was a 21-year-old laborer and was married to Mariana, who was 19 years old. They had one daughter. Faustino Ramirez and Maxiana Ramirez did not actually get married until 1888. On July 2, 1888, Father R. N. Olivia wrote in the St. Joseph church book that he had married Faustino Ramirez, a single man, aged 30 years, legitimate son of Ventura Ramirez and Remedio Olguin (deceased), originally from Santa Rosalia (Chihuahua) but a resident of Remedio. The bride was Maximiana Palomino, single, 28 years old, legitimate daughter of Guadalupe Palomino and Ventura Bustamante, originally from Ojinaga and resident of Remedio. Seeking new info on Ramirez and Palomino families from Presidio, Barron and Caño from Pecos County. John P. Schmal
