Jesse Brown's parents are unknown but, are related to grandfather of Gov Joe Brown of Atlanta, GA son of Mackey Brown born 1797 descendant of William Brown born about 1687- died 1757 and Margaret Peggy Fleming Brown born 1701 – died 1801 both from Londonderry, County Ulster, Ireland and arrived in America around 1745; moved to Rowan County, now named Greensboro, Guilford County, NC; Margaret is buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, TN. Some of their sons settled in Belton, Anderson County, SC and Pendleton Dist, SC. Jesse Brown married about 1822 to My g-g-grandmother Mary Powell (Mrs. Mary Brown) born about 1803 NC; died Aug 12 1883 Everette Spgs, Floyd County, GA at the home of her daughter Sarah Brown known as Sallie Ann Rosa Bates.
