How do you obtain a Birth records for Kentucky older than 1911. I sent a request to Knott county/ Frankfort office and they says it's to old. I know my grandfathers ss#, date of birth and death but need a certificate. Should I contact the geneological society of KNott county, or maybe the county clerks office for Hindman Kentucky. I thought in order to get a Social Security # you needed a birth Certificate?? help me if you can Barb Kleiva (slone)
