I am looking for information on William Latney Barron. Born in 1860's, I do not have the mother or father's name,I understand he was from Bienville, La. He married Rosa Lee Pullin in the 1880's. I do not know where. By 1901 William Latney & Rosa were in Shelby County, Texas as it was the year my Grandpa Claude Paul Barron was born and he was the frist of their children born in Texas. Their older children were born in Bienville. One's name was Mammie Gertrude. It is said they settled in Shelby County, Texas on their way to West Texas but Rosa was pregnant with my Grandpa and they had to stop as she could go no further. I have been told he went by the name Latto and he ran a horse taxi in and around Joaquin and Haslam in Texas. They aquired land in the Joaquin area. I am told we are related to the Derbins, Frey & Rayburns. I cannot seem to find the name of William's parents but somehow down thru the years it was told by one of the children they liked to go to see their Grandpa (William's father) and play with his big ring of keys. I believe my ancestors on the Barron side came from Georgia. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
