I am searching for the place of birth and ancestors of my g g grandfather, James Laverty. (Could be spelled Laferty) James emigrated to the USA in 1849 from Liverpool to NY. Also on the ship were Margaret and Robert Laverty, presumed to be his mother and brother. James married Mary McCluskey in early 1850's in US. From information gathered, I believe James and Mary were from the Armoy, Loughguile, Kilcroagh area, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Other names in the family are John, Cornelius, Francis, Bernard, Richard, Elizabeth, Catherine, Margaret. Any information you may have regarding this family would be greatly appreciated.
