Maine/Massachusetts Thompson.John Thompson came here, possibly with some family, before the Am Revolution was Scottish descent immigrating from Ireland ,he married a Margaret "P",surname unreadable, there or here.Family lore had a connection to PA somewhere but no proof due to hurricane loss in 1938.They had some of the children in Northport, ME ,lived several places in ME.My ancestor, their son, was born in Maine and moved to Waltham,MA, raised a large family, and Samuel enlisted in the Union Cavalry, possibly with sons.We found 2 sons, think there are more, who also served Charles and Thomas, not cavalry. Two youngest sons,George W. and Lewis stayed behind with their mother Mahala, in Waltham and appear with her until 1880 census.I would love to find kin.artistinsc[at]aol[dot]com | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
