I'm looking for descendants of Colonel John Alexander Bannerman,Governor of Penang,Malaysia from(1817-1819).His parents was David Bannerman, A.M., Minister of Forglen (1742-1758)& Janet Turing. He was Lieutenant Colonel in the Madras Native Infantry for the English East India Company, b. 5 Jun 1759, chr. 8 Jun 1759 at St. Martins, married 1789 at Palamcotta, Madras, Ann WEST, d. of cholera 8 Aug 1819. Went out to India, 1777. Returned to Britain, 1800. In 1801, subscribed to Ruthinglenne. Elected to the House of Commons, 1806. Member of the Court of Directors of the East India Company, 1808.His daughter,Janet Bannerman married to William Edward Phillips in Penang.P/s contact me. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
