Query Text: |
John Hine was an immigrant from Prussia/Germany who married Theresa Beutler of Michigan. They had several children, including Carl, Grover, Clara Fritz, Robert, Reuben, Marshall, and Cora Griffin. Although I would be thrilled to learn from where in Germany John Hine(s) originated, I would be satisfied to learn more of the family that variously used the name Hine or Hines. Most lived in Michigan. Isabella county at first, then spreading out. Some settled in Seattle, King county, Washington. I have placed John Hine in the 1880 and 1900 census. In both of these, he lived in Sherman, Isabella county, Michigan. According to the census, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1872 from Prussia or Germany. I was given his date of birth as 12 April 1847 and his date of death as 19 September 1906. Therefore, these are the only two censuses to find him in the U.S. Since Theresa Beutler was born in Michigan, they lived in Michigan, and all their children were born in Michigan, I assume they were wed in Michigan, too, sometime in the late 1870s. Theresa was born in 1859 and their first son in 1880. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
