SOUTHERLAND, SUTHERLAND....am searching for family connections to a Southerland family who res. in 1933 in Vernon, TX (James or Joe Sutherland/Southerland family)...brothers to my great-grandmother, Amanda Elizabeth Southerland who married Wm. Henry Jernigan in Sept. 1890 Rockwall Co.,TX but res. in Leonard, Fannin Co.,TX until she died in 1904; bur. Leonard City Cem. Parents to these children were: Andrew Jackson Sutherland of Franklin Co.,TN prior to coming to TX and then OK and his wife was Melvina Tankersley who res. Pinkney M. Morrison as her second spouse. Mr. Morrison owned and operated a general merchandise store at Vernon, TX and the store was burned.
