The Ancestors of Thomas Pullum (1822 - 1888) Thomas Pullum was born in either Social Circle, Walton Co., GA or in Newton Co., GA in 1822. I believe his father was named Richard Pullum (b. 1790s, d. prior to 1850 Census being taken) and his mother was Hannah Ogletree. If they were his parents, then Thomas had a sister named Amanda Pullum (1821 - 1882) who married Peyton W. Bailey. Thomas married Mahala Clark (1832-1915), the oldest daughter of Elijah Clark (1807 - 1871)and his first wife, Sarah. I am seeking anyone who has any info on Thomas Pullum's ancestors. Pullum is a fairly common English name, I am told. Apparently some of my ancestors moved from England to Ireland as a family legend says that our branch of the Pullum family came to the USA from Ireland after a plague had wiped out all of the family except for the father and one son. They landed in the "Carolinas" and the family steadily moved to the southwest until it reached southeastern Alabama, near the junctions with Georgia and Florida.
