Searching for descendants and ancestors of John Hallock (m. Malinda) lived in New Jersey through 1818 at least. Do not know what part of NJ or what Malinda's maiden name was. They may have moved to Wabash County, IL before 1860. One son, Aaron B. Hallock, b. 24 Apr 1818, d. 3 Dec 1910, married Asenth (various ways of spelling, this on her gravestone) Ogden, b. 15 Jan 1825 in Pennsylvania, d. 24 Feb 1869 (or 1873-on gravestone) in Mt. Carmel, IL (Wabash Co.) Aaron B. and Ascenath Ogden had eight children: Mary, John, William, James, Allen, Martha M. (Mattie), Leda and Charles. Mattie married my great grandfather, Rufus M. Newkirk, and both are buried in the Hallock Cemetery, Wabash County, IL. Mattie was born in 1852, died 1923; Rufus M. was born 1849, died 1923. Mattie Hallock Newkirk and Rufus M. Newkirk married 10 Sep 1874. Their children: Sarah Katherine, Anne Mary, Gertrude Aceneth *, Grace, Amy Alice, William Aaron, Allen Hallock Newkirk. Gertrude Aceneth Newkirk married my grandfather Clarence Verner Mundy, son of William Hardin and Carodile Best Mundy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
