am trying to trace family members strictly for a geneology project for myself & my children. I only know some things about my mom & a little of her early life. Her name is Lola Mae Williamson by birth on 3-15-1954 in Logan WV. Her birth certificate says Williams, but it was a clerical error. She has told me her mother's first name was Virgie, who died between 9/1974-3/1975. I don't know the cemetery, but Mom said it was not too far from her own grandmother's house (she will be mentioned a little further on in this). Virgie was married to Curtis Williamson, possibly they resided in one of 3 places...Verdunville, Huntington, or Logan, WV. He is not named on my mom's BC, but this info was given to her by Virgie & her grandmother. They apparently divorced when my mom was 4, or as she was told. My mother's paternity was in question by Curtis. A letter from Virgie states Curtis was to have resided in Huntington WV prior to Virgie's death (1975), but we know nothing after that year of where he was. Virgie abandoned my mom & a younger sister Selena (born to Virgie and Henry Trigg around Thanksgiving in 1957 possibly...could have been an unsurviving twin at birth) & she was taken by the welfare & placed in the Allen County Children's home in Fort Wayne,IN. My mother has told me she met her father for the first time in years at Virgie's funeral, apparently at which time she had me & I was less than a year old. My mother has tried to call Mr. Williamson when I was a little older, & I was told his then wife denied the contact & hung the phone up. Virgie was with Henry Trigg who was born June 18, 1923 & died March of 1968 SSN 236-18-0448 issued in West Virginia. I know this because apparently he died from Black Lung, & my mom got Black Lung check. She has the award certificate that has Henry's SSN on it as the calim #. I was told, after her memory came in a little, it was because Henry & Virgie were common law, & she was entitled as a step child to benefits, which stopped in "74 after all due monies were received. My mother had older brother Curtis Ray Williamson, Jr., older sister Ethel Pauline Williamson, older sister by either Joanne, Jo Ann, Joe Ann, or Joanne (unsure of maiden name) who had the married name of Akers, a younger sister Brenda Kay, who was possibly adopted by the grandparents Ella & Paylo Eckle(s) (we think he was born 5-9-1891 died in FEB 1977). Brenda was born maybe FEB of 1956. In a letter Brenda wrote to my mom she states "I will be 17 in 2 weeks". That letter is dated 2/13/1973 & came from Verdunville, WV. Brenda Kay married a Bill Shuler & resided in Logan WV zip code 25601 around 8/27/74 according to another letter. Possible address on that letter, as the writing is old & hard to read, is 410 1st Ave. Brenda Kay has also had the last name McGraw & Eckle(s)(from the adoption maybe). Her original last name, we don't know. Could have been Nelson. She has a son James McGraw. My mother recieved a letter addressed by Zelma Nelson (Virgie's sister) Box 258 Verdunville ,WV 25649. My mother has Uncles Donald R. Nelson & Uncle Namon (unsure of spelling) Nelson who are VIrgie's brothers. These men were married to Joyce & Thelma "Tence" (pronounced teense), though I am unsure of who was whose wife. Their last names were only known as Nelson. Don worked with coal, have a picture of him driving a truck that says Tayhauler on the side. Thelma wrote my mom in 1971 from Huntington , WV & provided a phone number at that time of 752-3771. She again wrote March 25 1975 after Virgie's funeral. Either Donald or Namon had a son they named Paylo Nelson who graduated high school in Logan in the 80's. My mother has spoken to Brenda Kay about 10 years ago. I had a child named Caila then who was a toddler, now 13, when Joanne came to visit in Fort Wayne, IN. My mother has had a few strokes, & she doesnt remember much about any of it. She cant remember where Brenda Kay was calling from, her last name, or where Joanne was from or where she was going. This is all the info I have compiled in the past weeks as my mom finds things or gets a memory. I am looking to find her patents info, & thier parents, and so on. Because of this supposed thing of Curtis' wife not wanting him to have anything to do with past children or children not hers, I was never able to talk to my grandfather one time. I do not wish to interupt anyone's lives or even be a part of it if they don't want it. I just want to know names, birth dates, death dates, & places of birth. I want to know more about me other then just what I have on my mom. I want my children to know where they come from. It has been very difficult in trying to get what little info I have, & I have been unable to find anything else with it. Any help is so wanted and will be very appreciated.
